Dear Visitor,
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about CSTLC Carmarthen.
My name is Elisabeth Griffiths, and I have the privilege of leading CSTLC Carmarthen as Centre Manager. Our setting is a place where young people are seen, heard, and supported—especially when the traditional school environment hasn’t quite met their needs.
We know that life doesn’t always follow a straight path. Many of the pupils who join us have faced significant challenges, and it’s our role to offer them a fresh start. At CSTLC, we don’t just focus on academic progress—we prioritise relationships, wellbeing, and personal growth.
We are a trauma-informed centre, which means we take the time to understand the experiences behind behaviour. Our staff are trained to respond with empathy and consistency, creating a calm and predictable space where pupils can feel safe and begin to rebuild trust in education.
Equally important to us is our use of restorative practices. We believe that when things go wrong—as they sometimes do—it’s vital to have honest conversations, repair harm, and move forward together. This approach helps our pupils develop emotional literacy, accountability, and stronger connections with others.
Every young person who walks through our doors brings something unique. Our job is to help them recognise their strengths, rediscover their confidence, and take steps towards a brighter future—whether that’s returning to mainstream school, moving on to college, or finding a new direction entirely.
If you’d like to know more about our work , please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’d be delighted to hear from you.
Warm regards,
Elisabeth Griffiths
